Llagostera kicks off mushroom season with festival this weekend

Llagostera’s mayor was accompanied by a number of local chefs yesterday when he went to Girona to promote the town’s 11th Mushroom Festival, which takes place tomorrow (12th October).

The event was sponsored by El Celler de Can Roca, currently the world’s number one restaurant, and served small tasting portions to promote the eight restaurants in Llagostera that will be offering mushroom menus until the beginning of November.

Menus start at a reasonable €21 but rise to €70, depending on the varieties served. If you’re a mushroom lover you need to get over to Llagostera before 3rd November!
