The 10 best Lloret de Mar hotels

With more hotels than any other town on the Costa Brava, Lloret de Mar has something for everyone.

Lloret de Mar was one of the first towns on the Costa Brava to become popular with overseas visitors. At the time those early tourists were attracted to a quiet fishing village with a 1.6 kilometre beach of coarse sand. However, the impact of tourism over the years has been immense.

The 1960s saw a boom in hotel construction as the town adapted to cater for a vast influx of holidaymakers on package tours. Lloret is now unrecognisable from those early years.

It was the first ever destination for the infamous Club 18-30 holidays in the 1970s, with night-time charters flying in youngsters eager to have a good time, firmly cementing Lloret’s reputation as the Costa Brava’s party town. It’s an image Lloret is doing it’s best to shake off but it remains ingrained.

Today, according to Wikipedia, the number of tourists staying in Lloret amount to an incredible 40% of the Costa Brava’s total. It also has a quarter of the Costa Brava’s hotel accommodation and half of all hotel beds.
