The nearest golf club to Platja d’Aro is the Golf Club d’Aro-Mas Nou, located 300 metres above sea level in an area within the natural park of the Gavarres mountain range. The course has plenty of steep ravines, making it easy to lose balls, and is surrounded by forest; olive, pine and oak surround the course, which also has two artificial lakes.
The par 72 course, which has in the past hosted the European tour, was one of the first on the Costa Brava and irrigated using reclaimed water to minimise the impact on the environment. The course was designed by designed by Ramón Espinosa affords players a spectacular view of the area; tee 15 in particular has a spectacular view of the coast that stretches from Tossa de Mar all the way up to Begur.
Golf Club d’Aro-Mas Nou is just 35 minutes from Girona, making it ideal for weekend golfers travelling from the UK and Europe.
