Wiggins leads as cycling tour hits Costa Brava

March 20, 2013

Cycling seems to have overtaken the north of Catalonia, with the second leg of the Tour of Catalonia running down a good section of the Costa Brava yesterday. Bradley Wiggins led the race, 20 seconds ahead of the number two spot.

The second leg started in Girona, followed the road to the Tossa de Mar then followed the coastal road through Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Platja d’Aro and Palamós before heading back inland to Banyoles.

Today the third leg starts in Vidreres, goes through Caldes de Malavella and Llagostera, back to Vidreres and Sils then heads further inland and into the mountains.

Complaint: The traffic in Vidreres is being cut today, which is a nuisance because I need to get to Sils station. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get to Caldes de Malavella station instead as almost all the roads are affected!
