Vichy Catalan introduces tonic water

The Roman bathhouse in the centre of Caldes de Malavella illustrates the town’s long association with water and from the late nineteenth century it was one of the go to spa towns in Catalonia. Today there are a couple of spas that remain popular throughout the year and bottling plants for mineral waters that include Vichy Catalán.

These days Vichy Catalán belongs to the Perrier group, along with many other Catalan water brands, but the company has just announced the launch of a new range of healthy soft drinks, including “Tonic Water by Vichy Catalán”.

No pricing details have yet been made available, but it would appear that the company is getting on the premium tonic bandwagon. In the last few years dozens of brands of premium priced tonic, often made with all natural ingredients, have joined Fever Tree, one of the first brands on the market.
