Ten thousand attend Llagostera mushroom festival

Llagostera’s 11th annual mushroom festival, the Fira del Bolet, saw 10,000 people turn out at the weekend to promote the region’s mushrooms.

Although the festival took place on Saturday, mushroom lovers have the next three weeks to visit the town, where eight restaurants are offering special menus centered in locally collected fungi. Delicacies include botifara sausages and pig trotters with various mushroom types.
