Summer bus routes will link Girona Airport with Costa Brava resorts

The government of Catalonia, the Generalitat, yesterday issued a press release regarding plans to improve public transport in the Costa Brava this summer from Girona airport.

The plans will see the introduction of daily buses to the principal towns in the Baix Empordà in July and August; there will be 12 departures per day from the airport to Palafrugell via Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Platja d’Aro, Sant Antoni de Calonge and Palamós, making it considerably easier for tourists to travel to their resorts as well as locals needing to get to the airport to fly elsewhere.

The plan will also see the introduction of more routes the following summer to the Alt Empordà; Begur, L’Escala and Cadaqués will also see a bus route introduced from Girona airport in the summer of 2014.
