Submerged waterbreak proposed to prevent erosion of Roses beaches

The local council of Roses is studying the possibility of constructing a submerged waterbreak in the shape of a hammer to prevent the erosion of its beaches, just one of the solutions proposed by the Universitat Politècnica de Barcelona, which was commissioned by the council to look the the problem.

Only recently they have spent €50,000 returning sand to the beaches that had been displaced during storms and a long term solution is bring sought to prevent this happening in future.
