Spanish court rules on abusive Ryanair T&Cs but some improvements for passengers
October 28, 2013Ryanair might offer cheap flights, but I try and avoid them whenever possible. I’ve never had a truly awful flight with them, but I find their attitude irritating and I don’t want to play ball. I’ll only end up getting thrown of a flight one day!
So, it was a bit of a surprise to see that they have relented to passenger requests to be able to take on a second item of hand baggage, as they seem never to listen to their customers at all. Up until now Ryanair has prevented passengers taking on a case plus handbag, for instance, and they are going to half the price for checking in baggage at the airport. Must be something to do with their recent profit warning methinks.
Other improvements include getting rid of the “captcha” on the websites, allowing passengers to change their bookings within 24 hours and not blasting passengers with noisy adverts on early flights.

In the other hand, a court in Spain has declared a number of their terms and conditions null and void and in violation of consumer protection legislation. Spain’s consumer protection watchdog that brought at action against Ryanair doesn’t expect Ryanair to comply with the ruling and has urged action by authorities if it persists with what it claims are abusive practices.
