Snowfall forecast today in Girona province
May 29, 2013Girona is one of a dozen provinces in Spain that is at risk from snow today, according to a weather forecast issued from Madrid.
Up to five inches of snow is expected, although it has to be said that the snowfall is expected in the Pyrenees rather than on the coast. However, June is fast approaching and I can often see the snow capped peaks.
What happens when all that snow melts?
Some of it helps fill the reservoirs (if they’re not already full with all this rain), but a lot of it will end up eventually flowing into the sea. The water temperature is only 17 degrees C at the moment, and that melted snow won’t help warm it.
