Six jump into sea to escape Estartit boat fire

Six people were forced to jump into the sea off Estartit on Sunday after the boat they were travelling on burst into flame.

Three adults and three children escaped the fire after the engine caught fire just after 1 pm, but luckily were just 50 metres from the harbour entrance and close to the shore.

A group of divers helped rescue them and brought them back to the port, as well as firefighters, maritime rescue and the coastguard. No one was hurt in the incident.
