Roses modifies port plans to benefit local economy

May 1, 2013

Roses is to help stimulate the local economy with an amendment to the plans for the port by clarifying the uses for the far southeast area adjacent to the lighthouse.

The change clearly defines and regulates industrial fishing, commercial shipping and the shipyard in the area to clarify the permitted use and adapt the agreement between Roses council and the Generalitat for the port’s development. The plan will also expand the lighthouse promenade and improve the urban environment.

After being provisionally passed by the town council the amended plans will go to Girona’s Regional Planning Committee for final approval.
