Roses council may charge for access to Cap de Creus natural park

The town council of Roses is studying the option of charging for cars and boats to gain access to the Cap de Creus natural park.

The mayor says the studies are quite advanced and it is believed implementation of the proposed daily fee of €5 would create 30 jobs.

However, they are planning on analysing the number of tourists entering the park this summer in order to get a better understanding of numbers and behaviour before full or partial implementation, which could be during the summer of 2014.

Hopefully there will be ecological benefits to the the area, which is extraordinarily beautiful both above and below the surface of the sea.
