Number of new businesses in Girona records increase since 2008

5,000 businesses have closed in the province of Girona since 2007, according to recent figures. However, it is not all bad news. Since 2008 the number of new businesses has actually grown as people who have lost their jobs have been forced to rethink how they earn a living.

Unfortunately the system in Spain is stacked against the entrepreneur in terms of bureaucracy and taxes before a cent has even been earned. It can only be hoped that the crisis that continues to affect Spain will result in a changes to the system that make it easier to be an entrepreneur.
