New high-speed rail link connects European golfers to the Costa Brava
January 21, 2013 Leave your thoughtsSpain’s AVE high speed rail network is second only to China now that the section joining Figueres, Girona and Barcelona has now opened, with the newest section of the 3,000 km network opening up direct high speed journeys between Barcelona and Paris.
This also opens up the Costa Brava by train, with a journey time of less than six hours from the French capital and the area’s numerous golf course are hoping the better accessibility will mean an influx of gold tourists keen on playing some of Spain’s top courses.
