N-II lorry ban to come into force in April

HGVs are to be prohibited from using the N-II from April 2nd, which is good news for anyone using that road.

Lorries heavier than 12 tonnes will be required to use the AP7 instead, receiving a discount of between 25 and 50 percent on the tolls due. The lorry ban applies between Maçanet de la Selva and la Jonquera.

Several fatal accidents have occurred on the N-II, which is heavily used by all sorts of traffic. However, it is mainly single carriageway and not really suited for such a large volume of traffic, particularly containing heavy lorries.
