House sales in Catalonia during January increase 20%

According to provisional stats released yesterday, the number of residential properties sold in Catalonia during January increased by of 20.6% compared with 2012 and almost doubled compared with December.

There is no breakdown about the nationalities of the buyers, although previous reports have shown that foreign buyers and tending to see Spain as an investment opportunity at the moment. Many Spanish nationals continue to face hardship thanks to the poor economy, while those who are in a position to buy are holding off until confidence returns.
