Girona tourist office sees 25% increase in enquiries

The number of enquiries in the Girona’s central tourist office saw an increase of 25% in the number of enquiries they dealt with over the previous summer.

While anecdotally at least tourist numbers were up on the coast thanks to an influx of foreign visitors offsetting a fall in the Spanish domestic market, Girona’s council attributes the higher number of visitors to the high speed train that connects Barcelona and Paris with Girona and other Spanish cities.

The report once again reiterates the importance of Russian tourism to the region, as well as French and Spanish visitors.
