Girona records big drop in new mortgages during August
November 5, 2013The number of mortgages issued in Girona during August fell 34% compared with the same month in 2012, according to recently released figures, after a 20% year on year fall in July.
Throughout Spain that figure was larger, at nearly 42%, making it the 40th month in a row that the number of new mortgages has fallen. While Spain has recently recorded some signs that the economy has reached the bottom, it’s going to be a long climb before anyone actually feels any better off.
