Girona mortgages at historic low

The number of mortgages granted in the province of Girona between January and September has slumped 30% compared with the same period in 2012 to the lowest level recorded; it is not stated how long these figures go back though.

At the same time the number of properties has risen 8%, a paradox that is explained by an increase in the number of foreign cash buyers, while mortgages are more difficult to get.
