Girona hotel rates drop 5%
November 1, 2013A study by online hotel booking site Trivago suggests that hotel rates in the province of Girona, which includes the Costa Brava, dropped by 5% compared with the summer of 2012, while in Spain as a whole it was more like 10% on average.
However, hoteliers in Girona say that this disguises the fact that many hotels had to drop their rates even further and, furthermore, prices vary by hotel category anyway. I think the hoteliers missed the point that an average drop means – well, on average – and some hotels may have dropped room rates further, while others not.
