German injured in Lloret ‘balconing’ accident

A German was gravely injured after attempting to leap from his hotel balcony into the swimming pool in Lloret de Mar.

This is the first case of “balconing” I’ve read so far this year, but every year youngsters in Lloret and other towns attempt to climb from balcony to balcony or, as in the case, from balcony to pool. Most if the time they make it, but there are always a number who misjudge or slip and are injured or killed. Accidents are more likely to happen as the people involved have usually been drinking; this accident occurred at 2:00 in the morning.

The report goes on to say that earlier in the month there was one death and an injury in Calella (Barcelona).

I know it’s easy to say, and this website is not aimed at the Lloret demographic, but please… Don’t do it; you can kill or injure yourself and other people have to clear up the mess.
