El Bulli Foundation expects 200,000 visitors per year

May 9, 2013

MBA students at IESA yesterday presented their work with Ferran Adrià to convert El Bulli Foundation into a worldwide point of reference for the world of gastronomy.

The opportunity to work with the chef, whose restaurant was voted number 1 in the world in numerous years until it closed its doors for good in 2011, must have been too good to miss for the students who hail from around the world and to apply their business theory to a real life project.

Adrià has said he expects 200,000 people to visit every year, even though the goals the the Foundation appear to be far from clear. Adrià talks of it being a “creativity centre” and a “think tank for creative cuisine”, little of which seems to matter, or even mean much at all. However, perhaps these MBA students will help focus the Foundation and shape it into something more than what at the moment sounds like Adrià’s whimsy.
