Dismal forecast for Costa Brava weather this summer
May 27, 2013
Usually at the end of May you might expect to find me counting off the days until it’s warm enough to head to the beach. However, this year following a long winter the Costa Brava has had very little sun at all and instead of sitting here in shorts and t-shirt I’m well wrapped up.
In fact, it’s so cold we have had to use the central heating as the temperature indoors drops to around 15 degrees C. Surely though, it can’t be too long until the weather improves.
That’s what I was thinking until I read this report. France’s main weather channel has apparently said there is a 70 percent chance of a cold wet summer many European countries including Spain, so we can look forward to a June and July with short periods of summer weather followed by heavy storms in August.
Oh joy!
Bad weather is sure to hit the tourist industry, which is really bad news in the current economic climate. Let’s just hope that the French weather forecast is wrong and we can head for the beach sometime soon for a spell of prolonged sunny weather.
