Costa Brava sees a slow start to the season
June 28, 2013The summer season on the Costa Brava has just got underway with an estimated 10 to 15 percent few bookings than at the same period last year, but the tourist trade is divided as to whether the season will be good or not.
While many fear that with bad weather forecast for the summer the season will be diabolical, others believe that the season will be better than 2012.
The Costa Brava is particularly affected by Spanish and Catalan visitors, who are booking later, staying for shorter periods and spending little. Rural tourism has been particulalrly hard hit, since the majority of visitors are from Spain.
Only time will tell whether the worst fears of the sector are feared, or whether things pick up.
