Catalan unemployment drops year-on-year in April

Unemployment in Catalonia dropped nearly 7 percent in April compared with the same month in 2013, according to new figures, the biggest April drop since 1998, a fall in registered jobless of 2% compared with March.

That makes 10 months straight now that unemployment in Catalonia has fallen measured on an annual basis and three months of consecutive monthly drops. However, employment is highly seasonal, with many short term contracts starting at Easter in preparation for the tourism season.
