Caldes de Malavella spa unveils refurbishments

February 27, 2013

Hotel Balneario Vichy Catalán in the spa town of Caldes de Malavella, some 20 kilometres inland from Platja d’Aro, has this month unveiled refurbishments to modernise the spa and hotel areas of the century old establishment.

The communal areas have been improved to make them more comfortable by insulating against ambient noise and creating a more tranquil environment.

The hotel has also added a new hydrotherapy pool with pressurized water jets and added two double cabins for couples to receive treatments together.

Caldes de Malavella is well known for its natural spring water and visitors travel from across Europe for treatment at the spas. The town has a long history and visitors can see the remains of a Roman bathhouse in the centre of the old town.
