Big increase in Pyrenees ski resort investment for 2013

November 25, 2013

A total of €5.6 million has been invested in Catalan ski slopes this year, up sharply from the €2 million figure for 2012.

According to the Catalan Minister for Enterprise and Employment, there are signs that the crisis in the ski market has bottomed out and operators can expect recovery. To help assist in this ambition Pyrenees ski operators have agreed to hold ski passes at the same level as last year to encourage a greater number of skiers to the slopes.Last year saw 1.8 million skiers in the Pyrenees resorts and this will be the first year in which prices have not been raised.

The Pyrenees have a nice dusting of snow at the moment and operators must be hoping for a cold winter with plenty of snow.
