Ampurdan fire now under control

The Catalan Fire Service now has the fire under control after sweeping through a large area of the Baix Empordà on Monday evening and Tuesday.

Some 30 fire engines and two aircraft are still attending the fire, which is under control but not fully extinguished and they are hoping to have the fire completely out by Thursday. While there are no flames in the area, there are hot spots that may flare up again and until that danger is over fire crews will need to be vigilant, particularly with the wind expected to flare up again.
