36 hours in Girona

April 11, 2013 Leave your thoughts

The Daily Telegraph travel section has a feature on Girona and how the city, often relegated to day trips from Barcelona or the beach resorts, is worthwhile visiting for its own sake. In fact the article provides a whole itinerary for 36 hours in the city, although mentions the flower festival (11th-19th May this year), which I’ve been forced to entire a couple of times; as a hay fever sufferer I HATE flowers and the displays for me are overrated anyway.

The proposed itinerary looks pretty packed and is more than I’d like to do in a 36 hours, but at least it offers a variety of things to do while there. It also suggests accommodation for various levels of budget on advice on where – and what – to eat.
