The beach at S’Agaró in April [Video]

I visited the beach at s’Agaró, between Sant Feliu de Guixóls and Platja d’Aro yesterday to celebrate Sant Jordi. It was beautifully quiet, with a handful of people on the beach and the while the water is still pretty much frozen, the warm sun was glorious.

Come the summer the beach will get much fuller, although it you can usually find a spot – unlike some beaches I know. The 5-star Hostal de la Gavina has been well known since the 1950s and various assorted actors, singers and other celebrities have all stayed there.

There is also an excellent seafood restaurant just on the beach, La Taverna del Mar. I’ve never eaten there and the prices are sky high, but each time I walk by makes me want to walk in, so it’s only a matter of time.
