A report from the Via Catalana human chain [Video]

Wednesday 11th September saw a 400 kilometre human chain in support of Catalan independence on Catalonia’s national day, la diada.

At least 1.6 million people took part in the event, which took considerable planning behind the scenes in order to ensure enough people to stretch across even the least populated areas of Catalonia, but in the event many more than the 400,000 required to complete the chain from the border with France to the border with Valencia took part on the day.
