Whatever your reasons for travelling to Empuriabrava, here we look at the hotels available to you.

Despite the summer population swelling to around 80,000 there are relatively few hotels in Empuriabrava.
Most properties are located within the extensive network of canals that make up the huge marina. Most of these are privately owned houses and apartments, although there are also a number of aparthotels too.
Empuriabrava is close to Roses though and if you plan touring the area you’ll find a much bigger choice of hotel accommodation over there. Unless you have a boat that needs mooring, you may find Roses and the Cap de Creus suit you better anyway.
Apart from beach holidays and recreational boats, another top reason people stay in Empuriabrava is to skydive.
Skydive Empuriabrava is the number one centre in Europe and among the top three in the world. There they organise activities, including seminars, training jumps and skydiving competitions. Located in the vicinity of the airfield are a number of hotels and aparthotels situated nearby.

Hotels
There is an extremely limited choice of hotels in Empuriabrava and you may be better of renting an apartment for your stay. If you prefer a hotel you’re probably better off in nearby Roses unless you need to be close to the marina or to the skydiving centre.

Port Salins Hotel
**** Avinguda Fages de Climent, 10-15
This 4-star hotel is ideally located just 250m from the beach and overlooks the Salins canal close to the entrance of the marina. Most rooms are tastefully decorated in blue with wood features and the majority have a balcony.
The hotel’s restaurant a la carte menu features dishes prepared from fresh seasonal ingredients sourced locally. During the summer months the restaurant also offers serves barbecued food from a terrace overlooking the Bay of Roses.
Facilities include an outdoor pool open year round with sun terrace. A a jacuzzi and sauna are available to guests June to September. Guests may park their cars on the street or in the private garage for an additional daily fee. Places are limited though so you must reserve in advance. Note that the hotel doesn’t accept pets.
Hotel Portofino

Hotel Portofino is located in Empuriabrava marina just 500m from the beach. Overlooking the canal, anyone arriving by boat can use one of the hotel’s moorings. Just call before arriving to ensure there is a free mooring.
The hotel offers a variety of airy guest rooms in bright colours with ceramic or parquet floors. What might have been rather functional rooms have been given a dose of real character. Pets are accepted for free.
Guests can also enjoy the outdoor pool and terrace, as well as the restaurant and very pub-like bar. While you can park on the street, guests requiring hotel parking should contact the hotel to book in advance. There is a daily charge for the car park.
Ampuria Inn Hotel

Established in 2005, the Ampuria Inn is on the edge of town near Skydive Empuriabrava and so ideal for skydivers visiting the area. The four storey hotel has 43 comfortable rooms and while it is outside the marina and so 2km from the sea, it is near a number of restaurants and bars nearby as well as nightlife.
The hotel has a large swimming pool with poolside bar and in the summer the area beside the pool is used for barbecues with live music. Anyone trying to stay in shape while on holiday will also be happy with the top floor gym. There you’ll find a weight room, exercise bikes, and a jacuzzi and sauna.
After a hard day holidaying you can relax in the lounge bar and there is also a restaurant with Mediterranean and international cuisine and a good selection of wines. The hotel also has a large car park although charges for parking.
Hotel Silvia

Hotel Silvia is a family run hotel located at town’s entrance and just 150m from the marina. It’s also just 200m from Skydive Empuriabrava and so popular with skydivers.
The 34 rooms include an apartment for up to five and are basic but airy and comfortable. The hotel also includes a bar and restaurant and has a small car park. It is also close to bars, restaurants and discos for anyone wanting to take advantage of the local nightlife.
Aparthotels
As well as standard hotels, Empuriabrava has a number of so-called “aparthotels”. These have the advantage of providing an fully equipped apartment within a hotel environment where you check in and out at the reception desk. There are also some communal facilities.
Aparthotel Vent de Garbi

This aparthotel is located in the marina and just 250m from the beach, making it perfect for beach holidays. Vent de Garbi is highly rated by guests and offers parking for a daily fee. You don’t need to reserve in advance.
As well as kitchen and living area with TV you get access to the rooftop swimming pool and amenities. The downside is that no pets are allowed.
Aparthotel Giuliano
Carrer Tamariu, 7
Located at the entrance to Empuriabrava, Aparthotel Giuliano is half a kilometre from the skydive centre and has free onsite parking. Facilities include a bar and a la carte restaurant, which serves Argentinian dishes. If you like steak you’ll love it here.
While it’s not close to the beach, it is ideally situated if you’re planning on exploring this part of the Costa Brava as it’s close to the main road that leads you to Figueres in one direction and Roses in the other.
Xon’s Platja
Carrer Pompeu Fabra
Perfectly located for the beach, which is only 200m away, Xon’s Platja is also close to the mouth of the Muga. On the far side of the river lies the protected marshlands of Aiguamolls d’Empordà where you can see dozens of varieties of birds. The marina’s canals are around 200m too.
Facilities include on site parking, outdoor pool, buffet restaurant and a 24 hour front desk with concierge. The aparthotel also has a fitness centre and gift shop but doesn’t allow pets.
