A look at what you can expect from Port de la Selva’s campsites.

While most people who visit Port de la Selva stay in private accommodation, there are also three campsites in and around the town.

Camping is quite limited in comparison with the large number of holiday homes in the area. All the same, anyone who enjoys sleeping under canvas or in a caravan or motorhome has reasonable choice.

Of the three campsites two are close to the sea, with the other just off the road that runs between Port de la Selva and Cadaqués. While a bit more of a distance from the beach, it does at least have a swimming pool. But it’s not too far to walk anyway and you’ll get to the beach in a few minutes by car, so hardly much of a problem.

The campsites

Camping L’Arola

Carretera de Llança

Camping L’Arola is the only campsite actually in Port de la Selva, situated right on the edge of town next to the sea.

There are just 37 pitches in this pet friendly campsite and facilities include a snack bar and restaurant. The campsite is open between May and September and in August you tend to see the same people year after year, which probably says everything you need to know.

In addition to facilities for camping and caravans there is also 20 room hostal.

Camping Port de la Vall

Carrer Port de la Selva, Km 6

A little way out of town, on the road to Llançà, you’ll find Camping Port de la Vall. It’s just behind a fairly long pebble beach so some of the plots do have a great sea view. Set in a valley, you also get the mountains too so it is pretty spectacular scenery.

If you’re a keen hiker then you might like to follow the ronda de camí coastal path either to Port de la Selva or to the nearby lighthouse, or beyond to Llançà.

Facilities include an on-site supermarket and restaurant and as well as plots for camping and caravans there are also a number of chalets. The camp site is dog friendly.

Camping Port de la Selva

Carretera de Cadaqués, 2

On the road that heads to Cadaqués you’ll find Camping Port de la Selva, a comprehensive campsite with close to 200 plots.

The campsite includes a bar and restaurant, swimming pool and on site supermarket. It also has laundry and recreational facilities. It’s about a kilometre from the beach but sadly you get no sea view. You do get mountains and pine trees instead.
