Amazon UK does away with free delivery to Spain
June 19, 2013Living pretty much in the middle of nowhere, it came as quite a surprise to find that Amazon UK’s service to the Costa Brava was, in fact, far better than in Barcelona.
Orders placed online were delivered for free by a friendly courier, arriving just a few days later, far better than the three weeks or so it took the same packages to arrive in the Catalan capital. However, Amazon has done away with the free shipping on orders over £25, possibly to persuade us to order more from the Spanish subsidiary.
While the service from Amazon España matches that of the UK operation, they have a limited selection compared with the UK and English language books are cheaper to order from the UK than Spain.
