Blanes restaurants

Blanes is known for its prawns as well as the annual Suquet de Peix de Sa Palomera. Throughout June you can try suquet de peix, a seafood stew typical of the Costa Brava. Various Blanes restaurants offer the dish which costs from around €25 to €50 per head, depending on their restaurant you choose. If you like seafood then it’s definitely something worth trying.

There are numerous restaurants in Blanes but some of the more notable ones include Can Flores, which dates from 1958. Located in the port just 100 metres from the fish market, the restaurant specialises is really fresh fish.

A more contemporary restaurant is Sa Lola, which styles itself as a gastro bar. The owners previously worked at Tickets, Ferran Adrià’s tapas restaurant in Barcelona. It’s probably fair to say it’s the kind of place you can love or hate.

And laBalma is a small restaurant frequented by locals. It has one set menu during the week and another at the weekend, both based on seasonal, fresh produce.
