Costa Brava all-inclusive holidays 2013

Much of the property on the Costa Brava consists of privately owned villas and apartments owned by both Spaniards and foreigners who particularly tend to visit during the summer months.

While Christmas and Easter are relatively popular, it is only when the weather has turned and the long warm days can be enjoyed on the beach, while evenings are best enjoyed eating great food outside washed down with a Rioja or a glass of Cava.

There are hotels of course, particularly in resorts specialising in the kind of cheap mass tourism best exemplified by Lloret de Mar, which while having a great sandy beach consists of a mass of high rise apartment blocks and hotels with little of the real character of the Costa Brava to be found.

Those hotels tend to provide bed and breakfast or half board and while there are a variety of websites claiming to offer all-inclusive packages they actually allow you to select flights and hotel separately – they are not even a package, let alone all-inclusive and, with very few exceptions, you won’t find the kind of all-inclusive resort hotels typical of places like the Caribbean.

And anyway, with the kind of super cheap flights offered by Ryanair and other low cost operators these days you could argue there is little need for the tour operators to offer packages of any kind these days. Perhaps the main advantage is being bused from the airport to your hotel and back, but there is little else.

So, if you’re looking for fully all-inclusive holiday with meals and drinks similar to the resort hotels popular in the Caribbean you’re likely to be disappointed with the selection.

However, after scouring the internet for Costa Brava all-inclusive holidays I did come up with a small selection. They are all in what for me is one of the least attractive areas of the Costa Brava and offers very little for the seasoned traveller wanting to learn about Catalonia or get a feel for what the real Costa Brava is all about.

However, if all you’re looking for is a beach holiday with everything taken care of then check out the following offers:

First Choice

Rosamar Garden Resort, Lloret de Mar (fully all-inclusive)

I’m not going to specifically recommend any (in fact, I’d recommend NOT to stay in Lloret when there are towns that can offer so much more), but if you’ve set your heart on an all-inclusive holiday on the Costa Brava then you can use these links to start investigating.

Note: the links are correct in May 2013, if you find a link no longer works then please let me know and I’ll to correct it.
